  • This is an interesting piece of pipe history. It is a Signature billiard. This pipe was made by Larus & Brother Co. who is more widely known for being a Virginia based tobacco company. They brought Edgeworth Slices and Ready Rubbed to the pipe community. They released the Signature pipe line to enable pipemen to have their name or signature or even a monogram put on the stem. It is mixed finish pipe combines a smooth finish around the top of the bowl with a Custom-Bilt style rustication around the bowl and shank. It has a black vulcanite tapered stem that is in excellent condition. The pipe is stamped on the left side of left side of the shank and reads Signature over Imported Briar. On the stem it is stamped with the monogram M.M.S. The pipe is clean and ready to smoke. The contrast between the tapered black acrylic stem and the rusticated and smooth briar go well together. The rim is beveled inward toward the bowl and looks very good. There is a removable stinger that I left in place. You can remove it easily and the pipe is ready for you to load with a favourite tobacco and make it yours. If you have been looking for interesting historical addition this might be for you. The dimensions are Length: 6 inches, Height: 1 3/4 inches, Outside diameter of the bowl: 1 9/16 inches, Chamber diameter: 7/8 of an inch. PRICE $35USD + $12USD Postage to be paid by buyer.
