PIPES BY FRENCH PIPEMAKING COMPANIES

  • This Old Unsmoked Gutta-Percha Cavalier with a removable briar bowl can be yours today. This one is an interesting piece of pipe history. It is stamped around the lower edge of the bowl and reads Made in France. The base and stem are a single unit with a removable cap on the end  – cavalier style. The briar bowl is pressure fit into the base. long stemmed billiard that I would call a Bing Crosby type pipe. The removable cap makes it easy to clean out. The pipe has not been smoked so it is ready for you to break it in. • This Beautiful Chacom Noblesse 292 is available today. This is another interesting restoration from India by Paresh Deshpande. It is stamped on a left side of the shank Chacom over Noblesse and on the underside of the shank at the stem/shank union is the shape number 292. On the left side of the tapered stem is the silver oval with the CC logo. This well shaped and proportioned billiard is quite beautiful with the blonde finish. While the finish is nice there are some definite nicks from its travels to India and back. The polished blonde briar and the contrasting black vulcanite looks really good together. The dimensions of the pipe are Length: 5 1/2 inches, Height: 1 3/4 inches, Outside diameter of the bowl: 1 1/4 inches, Chamber diameter: 3/4 of an inch. PRICE $55USD + $12USD Postage to be paid by buyer. If product is being shipped to locations other than the US contact me before completing the sale at slaug@uniserve.com

  • This Paneled Royal Esquire 730 Dublin is available today. This one is an interesting paneled Dublin with a square shank. It is stamped on a left side of the shank Royal Esquire over Made in France with the shape number 730 next to the shank/stem junction on the underside of the shank. On the left side of the saddle stem is the is a stamped top hat logo. There is something about the pipe that reminds me of some of the Edwards pipes that I have repaired and restored over the years. The paneled Dublin and cap polished really well. The polished black vulcanite looks really good with the browns of the briar. The dimensions of the pipe are Length: 5 3/4 inches, Height: 1 3/4 inches, Outside diameter of the bowl: 1 1/2 inches, Chamber diameter: 3/4 of an inch. • This Long stemmed Maro Special Billiard can be yours today. This one is an interesting long stemmed billiard that I would call a Bing Crosby type pipe. It is stamped on a left side of the shank Maro Special in script. From my research the pipe is French made and may well have been imported into North America by Wally Frank and Company. No matter its provenance this is a beauty. Smooth finish with stunning birdseye grain on the sides of the bowl and shank and cross grain on the front, back and shank top and bottom. The band is for bling not repairs and is an English band that must have been added somewhere along the pipe’s journey. The polished black vulcanite looks really good with the browns of the briar. The dimensions are Length: 6 ¾ inches, Height: 2 inches, Outside diameter of the bowl: 1 ¼ inches, Chamber diameter: ¾ of an inch. PRICE $60USD + $12USD Postage to be paid by buyer. If product is being shipped to locations other than the US contact me before completing the sale at slaug@uniserve.com
